CAN 2023 (Q): the pre-selection of Cameroon with Wooh, Nkoudou, Kemen and Lamkel Zé

Qualified for the 2022 World Cup, Cameroon begins the CAN 2023 qualifiers against Kenya (June 4) and Burundi (June 8) next month. The coach of the Indomitable Lions, Rigobert Song, published this Friday a list of 34 players preselected for the occasion.

Following Samuel Eto’o’s European tour , 4 new bi-nationals are appearing. First, the Besiktas winger, Georges Kevin Nkoudou (ex-OM), and the midfielder of Kayserispor, Olivier Kemen (ex-OL), both passed through the France youth team. But also the central defender of Lens, Christopher Wooh, and the central defender of Ajaccio, Oumar Gonzalez. The promising Etouga Mbella, who scores goals in Ghana, is also called up for the first time. Very successful with Metz in recent weeks, striker Didier Lamkel Zé is recalled two and a half years after his only cape. It remains to be seen whether all these names will appear in the final list.

For the rest, it’s classic with in particular André Onana, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Karl Toko Ekambi and Vincent Aboubakar who are all present.
