CAN 2023: Togo misses its entry

Failed start for Togo in the CAN 2023 qualifiers. This Friday, the Sparrowhawks were hung at home by Eswatini (2-2), a modest opponent, on the occasion of the 1st day of qualifying.

Paulo Duarte’s men nevertheless led twice, first on a superb free kick scored by winger Euloge Placca Fessou (20 th ), then on a headed goal from the inevitable Kodjo Fo Doh Laba (87th ) . But the visitors picked up the score each time in the last moments, thanks to Sabelo Ndzinisa (84′ ) , then to Ngwenya, author of a superb shot under the bar in the last minute of additional time (90  +5) .

Faced with the supposedly weakest selection of the group, Togo recorded a very bad operation before going to Cape Verde on Tuesday. Burkina Faso faces Les Requins Bleus in the evening in the other pool match.
