Zouheir El Moutaraji puts Wydad Casablanca to their third CAF champions league title, with a double stellar against Al Ahly of Egypt in a fierce battle on Monday night, the 30th of May, 2022.

It is the third title for Wydad since the competition commences. They claimed the other two champions league titles after 1992 and 2017 respectively, and also being the team to stop Al Ahly from winning three in a row.

El Moutaraji scores a spectacular opener in the first half of the game before adding the second just minutes after half time, to seal a deserved win for Wydad before their passionate fans, who fills the stadium hours before the match.
Affer the global pandemic, this is the first finals the supporters are allowed to watch from their own stadium, since 2019.

Wydad starts the game very strong, hitting the post of Al Ahly in just 10minutes into the game, by Guy Mbenza from Congo-Brazzaville inflicting fear into the Egyptians.
El Moutaraji sends the home fans into devastating celebration after netting a long range stunner just four minutes after the goal post hit by Mbenza. The goal was ranged from a 30yards distance , with Mohamed El Shenawy becoming helpless.

The goal sparks the reigning champions into action, and they really pressed and possessed the ball, creating fear and panic to the fans.
Al Ahly misses lots of chances in open play.

Al Ahly begins the second half surging forward, but, it was Wydad that strikes first again after just two minutes of the second half.
El Moutaraji receives the ball again from an open play counter attack, by his teammate, Ayoub El Amloud.
His initial shot was deflected by El Shenawy, which the Wydad striker smashed it in again to put his team in the league for the second time.

The Wydad Casablanca keeper produces another outstanding stop at the feet of South African striker Percy Tau as he raced into the area with aggression.
Ahly continues to press harder but was unable to find their way back into the game.
This was a great delight for the fans, who chanted and praised their players till the final whistle was blown to end all proceedings.

What a great achievement for Wydad Casablanca; El Moutaraji will forever be plasted in the hearts of the Moroccan side.
