The Ghana Swimming Association gets an executive member unto the African body for swimming C.A.N.A.
This elected executive member is Farida Iddris ,a treasurer with the Ghana Swimming Association. She was elected as a Bureau member yesterday through a zoom meeting organised by Cana.
Her core mandate is to liase with the Loc of the African Games body with regards to swimming for Cana and also for the nation. She has started working on that and also to train technical and certified coaches for officiating in the African games 2023.
The president of the Ghana Swimming Association,Theophilus Wilson Edzie was happy for this particular elected Bureau member and also informed the media to look out for a more comprehensive national swim league across the country. He prayed for corporate companies to come to the aid of the association.
Farida Iddris in her acceptance speech with the media yesterday was also excited with her position as a Bureau member of Cana and urged that more women in the sporting associations should take up core responsibilities to help push their federations forward in Ghana and beyond.
She rose through the ranks of Cana and deserves her position now but the job is very tedious and would need the help of the media and the nation as a whole to execute her role to perfection.
The year 2021 will bring more good and great projects and positions to the Ghana Swimming Association because Farida stated that she will work hard to push some of her colleagues to various positions within Cana if any available opportunity comes.
Yesterday was a great day for Ghana Swimming Association and with the help of the media and Ghana Government , Ghana Swimming will be a force to reckon with in this nation.
