The president of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Mr. Ben Nunoo-Mensah spoke to the Ghanaian media after Joseph Commey’s stoppage of his Papua New Guinea opponent in the second round of the on going Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK.
Mr Ben Nunoo-Mensah was very optimistic about preparations of the Ghanaian athletes but he said we must invest in more International Technical Officials (ITOs) because it gives the country the strength in officiating at the International level . He said this after been quizzed about the preparations of the Ghanaian athletes.
He lamented about investing in more ITOs and would not say that Ghana had the best of preparations but we could have done better although Ghana is still hopeful for a medal from the Commonwealth Games. Athletics starts today and Ghana will be in there for a medal because of the wonderful exploits at the World Athletics Championship in Oregon,Eugene.
