At the end of the last return round of the playoffs played this weekend, we know the list of 18 qualified for the CHAN 2022. This competition is the equivalent of the CAN but reserved for players playing in their local championship. It will be held from January 13 to February 4, 2023 in Algeria. Remember that this edition will oppose 18 selections for the first time and that it has been postponed by a year so as not to overlap with CAN 2021 , organized in January-February 2022.
After Algeria, automatically qualified as host country, like Morocco (double defending champion) and Libya, for lack of other opponents in the North zone, 15 other selections have validated their ticket in recent days. . We think of Senegal, which finally took its revenge on Guinea, which had deprived it of the last three editions, but also of the DR Congo, titled twice. Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana went through in pain, on penalties, eliminating Burkina Faso and Nigeria respectively, while Madagascar reached the finals for the first time in their history.
Next step: the draw, which will take place on a date to be defined.
