Newly promoted Debibi United have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season with the signing of experienced centre-back Paul Kwame on a two-year deal.
The club officially announced the acquisition on Sunday, July 26, as preparations intensify for the league season. The signing comes days after Debibi United secured a sponsorship agreement with Tryton Motors, who have become the club’s official automotive partner and kit sponsor for both their home and away jerseys.
Kwame joins Debibi United after spending three impressive seasons with Hohoe United, where he established himself as one of the club’s most dependable defenders. During the 2025/26 campaign, he featured in 24 matches, scored one goal, won one Man of the Match award, and remarkably completed the season without receiving a single yellow or red card.
The experienced defender is expected to play a key role as Debibi United prepare for a difficult start to the season, with Matchday One clash against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko at home.
Speaking to Alliance Plus Media after completing his move, Kwame expressed his excitement about the new chapter and outlined his ambitions for both himself and the club. “I’m excited to be here because this is a fresh challenge for me. It feels great to get back to competitive football, especially after last season ended the way it did. My focus now is to work hard every day, improve my game, and contribute to the success of this club.”
