Hasaacas Ladies claimed their second Women’s FA Cup title in dramatic fashion, edging past Army Ladies 5–3 on penalties after a pulsating 1–1 draw at the Kukurantumi Park on May 17, 2026.
Both sides entered the final as former champions, with Hasaacas lifting the trophy in the 2020/21 season and Army crowned winners in 2023/24, setting the stage for a fiercely contested showdown. Army struck first in front of a charged atmosphere, but Hasaacas showed resilience to claw their way back and force the game into a penalty shootout, where they held their nerve to seal victory.
Hasaacas began their campaign with a 3–1 win over Blacoe Soccer Academy in the round of 64, followed by a commanding 4–1 victory against Essiam Socrates in the round of 32. Successive wins over Epiphany Warriors (3–0) and rivals Ampem Darkoa Ladies (2–1) carried them into the semi-finals, where they brushed aside Jonina Ladies 3–0. From the round of 64 to the semi-finals, Hasaacas scored 15 goals and conceded just three.
Army, determined to bounce back after losing the Southern Zone title to Hasaacas, enjoyed an explosive run to the final. They opened with a 10–0 demolition of Blessed Ladies, beat Valued Ladies 3–1, edged Sissamba Ladies 3–2, and thrashed Tamale Super Ladies 4–0 in the quarter-finals. A spirited 5–1 comeback win over debutants Samartex Ladies in the semi-finals saw Army reach the final with an impressive tally of 25 goals scored and four conceded.
Despite losing the Premier League title to rivals Ampem Darkoa Ladies earlier in the season, Hasaacas ended their campaign on a high by lifting the FA Cup. Ajegipena Zakaria of Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Esther Asamoah Yiadom of Army finished as joint top scorers of the competition, with Esther Asamoah Yiadom also crowned Best Player of the FA Cup. Belinda Kpentey of Rootz Sistaz won the Discovery of the Season award, while Hasaacas head coach Raymond Fenny and goalkeeper Grace Banwa were also honoured for their outstanding contributions.
