Sports and Recreation Minister, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, has paid a morale-boosting visit to Ghana’s Track and Field team ahead of the start of the athletics competition at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The Minister assured the athletes and technical officials of government’s full support as they prepare to represent Ghana on one of the biggest sporting stages in the Commonwealth, urging them to compete with determination and make the nation proud.
Team Ghana has a busy schedule on Monday, July 27, with athletes competing in the men’s 71kg weightlifting final, 100m heats, women’s 800m, F57 shot put final, boxing round of 16 bouts, 50m backstroke, and para swimming.
With the athletics programme set to begin and several medal opportunities on the horizon, Team Ghana will be aiming for a strong start as the country’s campaign gathers momentum at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
