Former national champion Felix Lartey, who is currently based in the USA, has donated table tennis bats and rubbers to Ghana’s junior table tennis team as they prepare for the upcoming Youth Championships.
The donation was made on Thursday, 16th July 2026, during the team’s training session at the University of Ghana, Junior players, coaches, and officials were present to receive the equipment, which comes at a crucial time as the team intensifies preparations for the continental tournament.

According to Lartey, the gesture was aimed at supporting the next generation of Ghanaian table tennis talents and providing them with the right tools to compete at the highest level. He noted that access to quality equipment was a major challenge during his own junior days, and he hopes the donation will motivate the players and ease their training.
The Technical Director of the Ghana Table Tennis Association, Mr. Charles Tachie-Menson, thanked the former national champion for his support.

“This is a timely boost for the team. Contributions like this from Ghanaians in the diaspora will go a long way in developing the sport and helping us challenge for honours at the African Youth Championships. This is a good gesture from Felix, and we applaud it,” he said.
The African Youth Championship and Cup have been scheduled for 20th to 29th July 2026 at the Borteyman Sports Complex.
