The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a major sponsorship and reward package for the 2026/27 Malta Women’s Premier League, with GoldFields Ghana coming on board as the new headline sponsor for the next two years.

The announcement was made by GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku during his address at the 32nd Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

As part of the new partnership, KFC has also been confirmed as the official meal sponsor of the Women’s Premier League, adding further commercial support to Ghana’s top-flight women’s football competition.

Mr Simeon-Okraku also revealed an attractive prize package designed to motivate clubs, players and coaches throughout the 2026/27 season.

The eventual champions of the Women’s Premier League will receive a brand-new JAC vehicle valued at US$29,000, while the Best Player of the season will be rewarded with US$5,000. The Best Coach of the season will also receive US$5,000.

Beyond the headline prizes, each of the 20 participating clubs will receive GHS100,000 in financial support, while every club will also be provided with 30 pairs of football boots to support players and improve their preparedness for the season.

The GFA has further secured additional support from partners including Melcom and GOIL, forming part of the broader package aimed at strengthening the women’s game and easing some of the financial pressures faced by participating clubs.

The new sponsorship arrangement and incentives represent a significant push by the GFA to enhance the commercial value of the Women’s Premier League while providing clubs with greater resources to compete and develop their players.

With GoldFields Ghana taking over as headline sponsor for the next two years, the GFA is hoping the partnership will contribute to a more sustainable and competitive future for women’s football in Ghana.
