JAC Tryton Motors has reaffirmed its commitment to the development of Ghana football after officially signing sponsorship agreements with Debibi United FC and Jonina Ladies at the company’s head office on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

The landmark partnership brought together executives of Tryton Motors, JAC Tryton, Debibi United FC and Jonina Ladies, as well as coaches, players, staff, football administrators, members of the media and stakeholders within the football fraternity.

The sponsorship marks a significant investment in both the men’s and women’s game, with JAC Tryton pledging its support towards talent development, professionalism and the long-term growth of football in Ghana.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of Tryton Motors, Jihad Hijazi, described the partnership as an investment in people rather than a mere branding exercise.

“When people hear the word sponsorship, they often think about logos on jerseys, billboards and financial support. But the true value of sponsorship is measured by the lives it touches, the dreams it fuels and the opportunities it creates. Today’s event is about much more than signing two sponsorship agreements. It is about believing in people, investing in potential and contributing to the future of Ghanaian football.”

“At Tryton Motors, we believe successful businesses have a responsibility beyond the products they sell or the profits they make. Sports, especially football, unites people, teaches discipline, teamwork, leadership and perseverance. That is why we are proud to welcome Jonina Ladies and Debibi United into the Tryton family. These partnerships are built on shared values, professionalism, excellence and a commitment to developing young talent while creating lasting value for Ghana.”

Hijazi added that supporting women’s football was particularly important as the game continues to experience tremendous growth globally, while the partnership with Debibi United reflects the company’s confidence in the future of men’s football development.

For Jonina Ladies Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Betty Mensah, the agreement represents a major milestone in the club’s vision of nurturing talented female footballers and creating life-changing opportunities.

“Partnerships like this do not happen by accident. They happen when vision meets confidence. Today, Tryton Motors has not only chosen to support a football club but has chosen to invest in women, talent, discipline, opportunity and the future of Ghana football. We sincerely appreciate the confidence the board and management of Tryton Motors have shown in Jonina Ladies.”

“This partnership comes with responsibility. Our players now carry the image of Jonina Ladies, the trust of Tryton Motors and the hopes of countless young girls who dream of using football to change their lives. We assure Tryton Motors that their brand will be promoted with dignity, consistency and creativity, and together we will continue telling the positive story of women’s football.”

Chief Executive Officer of Debibi United Fan C, Richard Otoo, expressed gratitude to JAC Tryton for believing in the club’s vision, describing the sponsorship as the beginning of a long-term relationship built on trust and shared ambition.

“Today marks more than the signing of a partnership. It is the beginning of a shared journey built on trust, ambition and a common vision for excellence. We are deeply honoured that JAC Tryton has chosen to invest in our club and in the dreams of our players, supporters and the community we proudly represent.”

“With this support, we will continue strengthening our team, improve player development, enhance our facilities and create more opportunities for young footballers to realise their potential. We are committed to repaying this confidence through professionalism, integrity and excellence on and off the pitch, while proudly representing both Debibi United and JAC Tryton.”

Chairperson of the Women’s FA Cup Committee, Rosalind Koramah Amoh, praised the automobile company for backing women’s football at a time when clubs continue to face significant financial challenges. “Whenever businesses decide to support women’s football clubs, many people ask what they stand to gain because women’s football is still not a lucrative business anywhere in the world. It takes passion, commitment and a sense of responsibility for companies to invest in the women’s game, and that is exactly what Tryton Motors has demonstrated today.”

“Women’s football in Ghana continues to battle challenges such as player welfare, transportation and limited resources despite the immense talent within the game. Partnerships like this give clubs hope, strengthen the development of young female footballers and show that the private sector is beginning to recognise the value and future of women’s football.”

The event concluded with an official unveiling of the new JAC Tryton home and away jerseys for both Debibi United FC and Jonina Ladies ahead of the 2026/27 football season, as players from the two clubs proudly modelled their new kits.
