The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has thrown its full support behind the Black Queens ahead of Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
In a goodwill message dated July 26, 2026, the Ministry praised the Black Queens for their dedication, resilience and achievements, highlighting their bronze medal finish at the 2024 WAFCON as a testament to their quality and fighting spirit.
The Ministry assured the team of the unwavering support of the Government and millions of Ghanaians as they seek to build on their success and challenge for continental glory once again.
“Let’s rally behind our Queens and show them the full support of Ghana! Together, we believe in you. Go Queens and make Ghana proud!” the statement read.
The Black Queens have been drawn in Group D, where they will begin their WAFCON 2026 journey against Cape Verde on Wednesday, July 29. They will then face Mali before concluding their group stage campaign against Cameroon as they aim to secure a place in the knockout stage.
With the backing of the nation and the Sports Ministry, the Black Queens will be hoping to improve on their bronze medal performance from the previous edition and make another memorable run on the continental stage.
