President of International Mini-Football Federation (IMF) visits Ghana’s Sports Minister

On Friday, May 15th, 2026, A delegation from the International Mini-Football Federation, led by President H.E. Dr. Mahammed AI-Dosari, paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation. The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the IMF to the Minister and to discuss strategies for strengthening, developing, and promoting mini-football in Ghana.

The delegation was warmly received by Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, along with Chief Director Mrs. Wihelmina Asamoah and other officials from the Ministry.

During the meeting, Dr. AI-Dosari outlined the Federation’s mission to promote mini-football as an accessible, fast-paced, and exciting sport suitable for all age groups. He explained that mini-football involves fewer players, about 5 or 6-playing on a smaller pitch. The President also highlighted the Federation’s global initiatives, including organizing competitions, grassroots development programs, and creating opportunities for young athletes. He expressed hope that the meeting would pave the way for a strong partnership between the IMF and Ghana’s Ministry.

Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams appreciated the IMF delegation’s visit and emphasized Ghana’s enthusiasm for embracing new sporting disciplines that can promote unity, youth engagement, and international recognition. He assured the Federation of Ghana’s support and expressed interest in collaborating to establish mini-football leagues and training programs across the country. The Minister also reaffirmed Ghana’s openness to innovative sports initiatives and its commitment to nurturing talent at all levels.

This visit signaled a new chapter in Ghana’s sports development, with a clear focus on promoting mini -football throughout the nation.
