NSA opens Constituency Games planning to media ahead of proposed October launch, the program held at the ESP Hotel on Friday August, 21st, 2026.
The National Sports Authority (NSA) has opened up the planning of its flagship Constituency Games to media organisations as part of a new consultative approach ahead of a proposed October 2026 rollout.
Speaking at a press engagement at the ESP Hotel, Samson Deen, Chairman of the NSA Governing Board’s Resource Mobilization and Partnership Committee, said the media will now be involved in the sports agenda from the planning stage rather than being briefed only after decisions have been made.

Deen described the engagement as a professional “stress test” aimed at identifying weaknesses, challenging assumptions and strengthening the Games before they begin. He said the proposed programme will run for six months in phases, subject to final validation and approval.
The NSA is also working on a Constituency Games handbook that will capture stakeholder inputs and provide guidelines on logistics, venues, budgets, financial discipline and operational responsibilities.
As part of the media partnership, organisations have been asked to submit recommendations on fairness, safety and verification, nominate newsroom focal persons and follow at least one constituency from registration through to the final outcomes.

Deen assured the media that the NSA will provide timely and verified information while clearly distinguishing confirmed decisions from proposals. He said stakeholder consultations will continue, with the Authority working towards completing preparations ahead of the proposed October 2026 start.
